The carrier or identifier of the subscription ticket is a contactless smart card.

• via the eShop of the carriers SAD ZA, DPMŽ, DPMM, ZSSK, ARRIVA Liorbus, Umbrella City Lines SK. Purchase via the eShop is possible only via the eShop of the carrier with which the BČK was issued. The first purchase of PCL via the eShop is made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the specific carrier. Purchase with a BČK issued by a third party (ISIC student cards) is governed by the terms and conditions of the specific carrier.
• on SAD ZA and ARRIVA Liorbus trains or buses – only repeat sales are possible directly on the bus from the driver, which means that you can only purchase a pre-paid travel ticket from the driver with the same zone and time validity as the one you previously purchased on your card.

Non-transferable subscription tickets are basic and discounted and are issued on non-transferable BČK (BČK with a photo), non-transferable PCL is tied to the holder’s name and PCL can only be used by the BČK holder.

Portable subscription tickets are issued on portable BČK (BČK without a photo), a portable PCL is not tied to the holder’s name, it can be used by multiple people, and a maximum of 1 person can travel on it on one trip.

Single-use tickets for the tariff area of ​​​​the city of Žilina (zone 100) are sold:

Purchases via eShop are only possible through the eShop of the carrier that issued the BČK. Purchases using BČK issued by a third party (ISIC student cards) are governed by the terms and conditions of the specific carrier.

According to the IDS PLUS Transport Regulations, the passenger has the right to request a refund of the fare for an unused or partially used PCL at the point of sale of the carrier from which it was purchased.

I can return unused PCL at the point of sale no later than 24:00 on the day preceding the first day of PCL validity. In the case of PCL purchased via eShop, PCL can be returned via eShop no later than 2 calendar days before its start of validity.

I can return a partially used PCL at the point of sale during its validity.

The carrier will refund the passenger an aliquot amount of the fare, reduced by the cancellation fee, which is calculated according to the following formula.

Refunded amount = PCL price-(PCL price*number of days traveled*k)-cancellation €4

Example: I purchase an annual (365-day) travel pass for zones 100,115 valid from 1.8.2025 to 31.7.2026 for €332. However, I will change my job from 1.2.2026 and will no longer use the PCL. I will request a refund of the fare for the partially used PCL at the point of sale, where they will calculate the aliquot amount minus the cancellation fee according to the formula and refund me €117.64.

When purchasing a PCL, the sales system automatically calculates the price of the PCL based on the selected route and type of PCL.

A) Basic fare
The basic fare is for persons who are not entitled to discounted or free fares.

B) Discounted fares
The following are entitled to discounted fares on all lines and sections of lines included in IDS PLUS:

• children from 6 to 18 years of age,
• pupils and students up to 26 years of age,
• seniors from 63 years of age,
• persons with severe disabilities (holders of ŤZP, ŤZP-S cards, ŤZP-S companions).

C) Free travel
The following are entitled to free travel on all lines and sections of lines included in IDS PLUS:

• children under six years of age.

From 1 August 2025, the following carriers have been involved in IDS PLUS: Slovak Bus Transport Žilina, joint-stock company; Transport Company of the City of Žilina, s. r. o., Railway Company of Slovakia, a. s., ARRIVA Liorbus, a. s., Transport Company of the City of Martin, s. r. o. and Umbrella City Lines SK, s.r.o.

Subscription tickets are valid within the purchased zones and their validity period (on weekdays, weekends and holidays) for an unlimited number of journeys on all lines included in IDS PLUS.

IDS PLUS tickets are valid on trains of category Os (passenger train) and REX (Regional Express) and, in the case of the Žilina – Čadca line, also on trains of category R (express) and category EC, with the exception of trains SC 240 PENDOLINO and SC 241 PENDOLINO.

Import duty is the price for transporting luggage and live pets.

The following are subject to import duty:

• luggage whose dimensions exceed 30 x 40 x 60 cm,
• board-shaped luggage exceeding dimensions 5 x 80 x 100 cm,
• cylindrical luggage whose dimensions exceed 150 cm in length and 20 cm in diameter,
• baggage exceeding 15 kg,
• All luggage, even one of whose dimensions exceeds the stated dimensions or weight of 15 kg, is subject to import duty,
• baby stroller without a child,
• a dog transported without a crate, with the exception of a dog with special training,
• live pets transported in a container with a solid bottom that exceeds the dimensions of 30 x 40 x 60 cm,
• sled for sledding,
• snowboard,
• a pair of skis with poles, which will only be transported if they are firmly connected or packed in special packaging.

The following are not subject to import duties:

• baggage not exceeding the specified dimensions or weight,
• live pets transported in a container with a solid bottom not exceeding dimensions of 30 x 40 x 60 cm,
• a dog with special training,
• wheelchair of the holder of the ŤZP, ŤZP-S card,
• baby stroller with baby.

Luggage or other transported items whose total weight exceeds 50 kg or whose dimensions are larger than 80 x 60 x 50 cm, as well as items or luggage longer than 200 cm with a diagonal or diameter larger than 30 cm, or items in the shape of a board if larger than 150 cm x 100 cm x 10 cm, are excluded from transportation.

Skateboards, folding bicycles and scooters in a folded state are considered baggage if they meet the conditions for the carriage of baggage in terms of dimensions and weight.

The transport of electric scooters and scooters in a disassembled state is prohibited.

A prepaid travel ticket (PCL) starts valid from the date you choose. You can buy a PCL no earlier than 30 days before its validity start date. A PCL purchased at points of sale with validity from the date of purchase starts valid upon its purchase and you can use it immediately after purchase. A PCL purchased repeatedly in a RAD vehicle starts valid upon its purchase or according to the selected validity start date. The terms and conditions of the specific carrier apply to the purchase of a PCL via the eShop.

Traveling by regional bus/Public transport Čadca/KNM/Liptovský Mikuláš/Dolný Kubín

After boarding the bus, you inform the driver of the exit stop and place your contactless chip card on the reader. The device checks the zone and time validity of the subscription ticket and prints out a registration ticket. In the event of an inspection, you only need to show your chip card.

Traveling by train

When checking on the train, you present your contactless chip card, which is the carrier/identifier of the subscription ticket. The accompanying staff will hold the contactless chip card to the reader and check the zone and time validity of the subscription ticket.

Travelling by public transport in Žilina

After boarding a Žilina public transport vehicle with prepaid travel tickets purchased via the eShop, it is necessary to activate the PCL on the first ride by inserting the contactless smart card into the slot of the tag (with the exception of cards issued by ZSSK). For subsequent rides on this PCL or PCL purchased at points of sale or on suburban buses, it is not necessary to make an entry or attach the card to the tag, only if you want to check the validity of the PCL. During an inspection in Žilina public transport vehicles, you must present your contactless smart card. An authorized employee of the carrier will check the zone and time validity of the PCL using an inspection reader.

Traveling by public transport Martin

After boarding the bus, you place the contactless chip card on the reader, the device checks the zone and time validity of the subscription ticket and prints out a registration ticket. During the inspection in MHD Martin vehicles, you present your contactless chip card. An authorized employee of the carrier will use the inspection reader to check the zone and time validity of the PCL.

IDS PLUS covers the entire Žilina region from August 1, 2025. The IDS PLUS tariff is valid on suburban bus, rail and public transport lines in the cities of Žilina, Čadca, KNM, Martin, Liptovský Mikuláš, Dolný Kubín and Ružomberok.

The price of zone 100 (CITY Žilina) is €26 (discounted €20, portable PCL €41) regardless of whether it is purchased separately or in combination with other zones. If you are traveling from the region to the city of Žilina and do not use public transport, you can purchase zone 99, which does not include public transport within the CITY of Žilina.

The price of zone 300 (CITY OF Martin) is €25 (discounted €17, portable PCL €40) regardless of whether it is purchased separately or in combination with other zones. If you are traveling from the region to the city of Martin and do not use public transport, you can purchase zone 299, which does not include public transport within the CITY of Martin.

The price of zone 500 (CITY OF Liptovský Mikuláš) is €25 (discounted €13, portable PCL €40) regardless of whether it is purchased separately or in combination with other zones. If you are traveling from the region to the city of Liptovský Mikuláš and do not use public transport, you can purchase zone 499, which does not include public transport within the CITY of Liptovský Mikuláš.

Border stops are classified into 2 or more zones, on the border of which they are located. When traveling from a border stop, the passenger only needs to purchase one of the zones to which the stop falls according to the passenger’s direction of travel. The municipalities of Jasenové and Kľače are classified into two zones 102 and 103, as all their stops are located on the border of these zones (border stops).

Within the MESTO zone (with public transport), IDS PLUS travel tickets are valid on all public transport lines, regional bus transport and rail transport. This means that if I buy a travel ticket for the MESTO zone with public transport (pre-paid, single 60-minute or daily travel ticket), I can travel within the city with such a travel ticket on all public transport lines, all regional bus transport lines and trains of the participating carriers during its validity.

Tickets are sold for specific zones and are valid for a specified time or period of validity. Subscription tickets are valid for 30, 90 or 365 days. Daily tickets are valid for 24 or 72 hours and single tickets for the MESTO tariff area Žilina (zone 100), Martin (zone 300), Liptovský Mikuláš (zone 500) and Dolný Kubín (zone 600) are valid for 60 minutes.

Within IDS PLUS, contactless chip cards can be used to purchase prepaid travel tickets:

• carriers SAD ZA, DPMŽ, ZSSK, ARRIVA Liorbus, DPMM, Umbrella City Lines SK and cards of carriers involved in the TransCard transport card acceptance system (Slovak Transport Passport – SDP),
• valid student ID cards in the form of a BČK or valid university student ID cards in the form of a BČK, with activated transport functionality, in which the discount validity is extended for the current school or academic year.

Within IDS PLUS, it is possible to use the electronic wallet on all of the above cards, with the exception of ZSSK cards, which can only be used to purchase prepaid travel tickets.

Electronic wallet is a service on BČK that allows you to fill a certain amount of money credit, which is intended for the payment of electronic travel tickets. The electronic wallet can be used to pay for single-use electronic tickets (E-JCL) and subscription tickets (PCL) within IDS PLUS on SAD ZA and ARRIVA Liorbus buses and for single-use electronic travel tickets with the carriers DPMŽ and DPMM directly in the markers in the vehicles. It is also possible to use the credit to pay for electronic travel tickets with carriers participating in the SDP.

The loss or theft of the BČK must be reported to the carrier immediately.

In the event of loss, damage or theft of the BČK, the passenger is obliged to request blocking of the lost or stolen card from the carrier that issued the card. The carrier will issue the passenger a new card (duplicate BČK) under the specified conditions for issuing new cards according to the relevant price list.

After blocking the original card, it is possible to load a duplicate PCL (PCL with the same zone and time validity as on the original card) and the remaining EP credit onto the new card.

A duplicate PCL is always uploaded by the carrier from which it was purchased. If the card was issued by a carrier other than the one that sold the PCL, it is necessary to present a confirmation of the blocking of the original card to the carrier uploading the duplicate.

The credit balance of the electronic wallet is always recorded by the EP administrator. The EP administrator is the carrier that issued the card and therefore also set up the EP on it. In the case of international ISIC cards, the EP administrator is the carrier that set up the EP on the BČK, i.e. with whom the first deposit to the EP was made. If the card was issued by a different issuer than the one recording the credit balance, it is necessary to submit a confirmation of the blocking of the original card. Transferring the EP balance to a new BČK is possible at the earliest after 3 days have passed since the blocking of the original BČK (the time required to distribute the list of blocked cards to all acceptance devices).

The IDS PLUS app is available for smartphones with Android, iOS and HarmonyOS operating systems. Users can download it via Google Play, App Store or AppGallery, depending on their device type.

Yes, after downloading the application, it is necessary to complete a basic registration, in which the user enters their first name, last name, login email and password. This basic registration allows you to purchase all types of tickets except subscriptions.

To purchase season tickets, it is necessary to complete an extended registration. This includes filling in personal data (name, surname, city and date of birth), selecting a fare category and verifying identity by uploading a photo of your face. If the user is claiming a discount, they must also upload the relevant documents confirming their discounted fare category.

The discount in the IDS PLUS mobile application can be applied by children aged six to eighteen, pupils and students up to twenty-six, seniors aged sixty-three and over, and persons with severe disabilities who hold ŤZP or ŤZP-S cards.

A wide range of tickets can be purchased in the application, including single-use 60-minute tickets for multiple cities, single-use tickets for the entire Žilina region, 24-hour tickets for selected cities, 24- and 72-hour regional tickets, and after completing advanced registration, subscription tickets for 30, 90 or 365 days.

Payment can be made in three ways: using credit topped up directly in the application, via Apple Pay or Google Pay, or by paying with a payment card, the details of which can be saved for future purchases for convenience.

Purchased tickets will be displayed in the Tickets section among active tickets. After opening a specific ticket, the user will be shown a QR code, which is used to identify themselves at the check-in. If the user has purchased multiple tickets, one QR code will be sufficient at the check-in, as it contains information about all purchased tickets.

Yes, one-time and daily travel tickets can also be purchased for fellow passengers in the application.

A ticket must be purchased before boarding. When boarding a regional bus, the passenger informs the driver of their exit stop and the information that they have purchased a ticket in a QR code. The driver then sets up a QR code check and the passenger places the phone display against the reader, ideally in a vertical position. After successful reading, an audible signal will sound and the passenger can continue on without receiving a paper ticket.

You must purchase a ticket before boarding. When traveling by train, you only show your QR code in the event of a check, i.e. to an inspector or conductor.

The ticket must be purchased before boarding. In Žilina public transport, the QR code is used exclusively for identification during inspection. In Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto public transport, it is necessary to proceed in the same way as in the regional bus. In Martin public transport, the passenger places the mobile phone with the QR code on the reader when boarding. In Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš and Dolný Kubín public transport, the procedure is the same as in the regional bus, but without the need to report the exit stop.

Yes, the application allows you to search for transport connections by specific stops, names of municipalities or even exact addresses. The user can turn on notifications for the departure of a connection, monitor its possible delays and, after finding a connection, can purchase a ticket directly through the application.

The Map tab displays all stops, points of sale and vending machines. The user can select a specific point on the map and from there search for available connections or view the nearest departures from stops.

The application contains an overview of transaction history, where all purchased tickets are available, a notification section with the option to set alerts on ticket validity and important announcements, the option to switch the application language to Slovak, English or German, a section for announcements from the IDS PLUS organizer and a contact form Write to us.
