From 1 October 2026, rail services on the S4 Žilina – Rajec line will be expanded.
Update – Due to an exceptional traffic situation in Žilina, all 14 new services have been cancelled until further notice.
On weekdays, 14 additional services will be introduced, allowing trains to run every 30 minutes in both directions during the morning and afternoon peak hours.
The new services will supplement the existing hourly interval. During peak hours, trains will depart from Žilina at 18 and 48 minutes past the hour, and from Rajec at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour.
In the Žilina–Rajec direction, additional departures from Žilina will be at:

In the Rajec–Žilina direction, the new departures from Rajec will be at:
