From Myjava to Bratislava faster and more frequently
The changes are being prepared by the Trenčín County in cooperation with the company Integrovaná doprava Žilinského a Trenčínskeho kraj, s. r. o., which is the organizer of the integrated transport system IDS PLUS. It will be expanded from the Žilinského region to the Trenčín region in the coming years.
The first stage of the new regional bus transport concept will bring more regular connections to the Myjava region and not only to the capital. The changes will take place in the Myjava and Nové Mesto nad Váhom districts.
The planned changes will also include the introduction of a clock schedule on selected lines. The clock schedule will bring more regular transport, with buses running once an hour, for example. Thanks to better connections to the railway, it will provide passengers with a more comprehensive connection to Bratislava, Trenčín or Žilina.
An example is the new regular junction at the railway station in Myjava. Trains from Nové Mesto nad Váhom and the Moravian Hodonín meet here every hour. The Trenčín region plans to extend the line from Brezová pod Bradlom here, which will have a completely new timetable and ensure convenient transfers to and from most trains.
The connection from Myjava to Bratislava will also be solved in this way. Instead of a direct line running only 4 times a day, we will offer passengers a connection with a transfer – but the travel time will be comparable despite the transfer, and in some connections even faster. Passengers in the categories of pupil, student or senior will be able to complete most of the journey free of charge, thanks to a 100% discount on the railway fare.
Leaving long-distance routes to faster rail transport and creating connections is the first step towards more efficient and integrated transport.
