Traveling with a QR code in the IDS PLUS application

With the IDS PLUS application, you can travel on multiple modes of transport with one ticket on your mobile phone.

Public transport can be simple and convenient. The IDS PLUS mobile application allows you to travel with one ticket purchased directly on your mobile phone across various modes of transport – on regional buses, urban public transport and trains. Everything you need for your travel is stored in the application and you can show your QR code at the checkpoint.

A big advantage is that if you have purchased multiple tickets, you only need to show one QR code that contains all your currently valid tickets. This way, you don’t have to look for multiple documents or deal with paper receipts.

Traveling with a QR code in suburban bus transport

When traveling by suburban bus, after boarding, you inform the driver of your exit stop and inform him that you are traveling via QR code. The driver then sets up QR code control on the on-board computer and a prompt to scan it appears at the reader. Reading is done by placing the mobile phone display with the QR code against the reader, ideally in a vertical position. After successful reading, a confirmation signal will sound and the driver will see your valid tickets. If the driver does not ask you for anything else, you continue to the vehicle – a paper ticket is no longer issued.

Traveling with a QR code on public transport

The use of QR codes in public transport varies slightly by city. In Žilina, you do not show your identity to the driver or hold your mobile phone with the IDS PLUS application to the reader when boarding. The ticket is checked exclusively by the inspector, who, in the event of an inspection, will show you a valid QR code in the application.

In the cities of Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto, the procedure is the same as in regional bus transport. After boarding the bus, you tell the driver the exit stop and tell him that you have a QR code. The driver will check it through the reader and after successful reading, you can go and sit down.

In Martin, when boarding, the mobile phone with the QR code is held up to the reader. After successfully reading the QR code, you continue to the vehicle without any further action.

In Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš and Dolný Kubín, the passenger informs the driver that he has a ticket in the QR code when boarding. The driver then activates the QR code check, the passenger places his mobile phone near the reader and, after successful reading, continues to the vehicle.

Traveling with a QR code in rail transport

Traveling by train with the IDS PLUS app is even easier. You don’t have to show your ID when boarding and you only have the QR code ready in case of inspection. Your ticket is only checked by the accompanying staff, to whom you show the QR code directly on your mobile phone.
